What is Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET)?
WSET's qualifications are designed for those who are just starting out in their careers, as well as established professionals, and the many enthusiasts who have a passion for wines, spirits sake and beer.
The Wine & Spirit Education Trust is an awarding body and registered charity devoted to the development and delivery of qualifications and courses in wines and spirits. Established in 1969 for the UK wine trade, WSET has since grown to become the global industry leader.
As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, WSET's educational products offer impartial and sound learning on which individuals and businesses can build knowledge and expertise.
Guidelines for Choosing the appropriate level for WSET Courses
Level 1:

Completely new to the beverage
Level 2:

Aged 18 or above

Able to recall some factual information of wine/sake production but never learnt in a systematic way (e.g. how environmental factors, grape-growing, winemaking and maturation options influence the style and quality of wines)
Level 3:

Aged 18 or above

It is recommended that you hold the WSET Level 2 Award or can demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge with the correct use of WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT).
